Chris
That sounds like a good project, the thing I like most is the part of doing something that kids are going to enjoy. When ever a kid can enjoy learning it's a plus.

Nicol,
I think that sight words would be a great idea for a project but I also think that something that has to do with the blending of sounds would be cool. I know that no matter what you decide to do it will be great! :)

Chris,
My project would be used after the lesson and with all students because right now they could all use the extra practice. Although some students may only need to view a story once while for struggling students it would be beneficial for them to view it multiple times.

I am not sure why I am having such a hard time choosing an idea!!! I really have spent a lot of thing thinking about it. Should I try math? I already know a great site for addition (www.dositey.com) Why make something I do not need? I have always wanted to animate my calendar but is choral reciting considered interactive. I have been collecting websites and songs and clips for this so most of it would not be original and can you hyperlink to a website in a powerpoint? So reading, sight words, sounds or blending? Okay...I will do an interactive powerpoint on sight words. (Maybe)

Jessica's project also sounds great!! Combining the computer with reading practice is brillant. With our little ones, reading is what it is all about!!! Providing them with one more opportunity to read is great!! Again, I look forward to making a super project worthy of a share!!!

I can not wait to see Carolyn's powerpoint. The skills she is focusing on are those math skills you briefly review EVERY DAY during calendar. I hate the boring repetition of the calendar. My first first idea for my first exposure to powerpoint was to automate the calendar. It failed and I am looking forward to seeing what Carolyn does. I only hope my project is as interesting as hers so she is thrilled to share!!!

Thanks Chris,
I agree those college level courses are too dependant on articles, lectures, and tests. Definitely not enough variations of learning.
On your PowerPoint, will it be straight foreword or will you design a game or interactive environment? How about using an outhouse w/a flushing sound for a wrong answer and a money stack w/ cool music for a correct response. I do not know if these are appropriate but, the idea is that humor is a type of situated memory device (emotionally situated memory) the has been proven to work.
