  1. Hello,

I am from the APU group in J. Courduff’s class.

I like your blog. Good design.

  2. I like the “Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants” article. It puts learning and learners in a category that I hadn’t thought of before. It makes a lot of sense.

I have also noticed that many of the E-successful people I have seen, a lot of them seem to be quite ADD. They are able to do so many parallel tasks with a lot of energy, never having to keep their attention on any one thing for a long period of time (that drives me crazy). It seems that many of them are being “sold short” in the digital immigrant classroom setting. Could be a key to an untapped energy of the future…

    Just a thought.

  3. The article “Tools for the Teks” points out several advantages for using podcasting for collaborative learning over traditional learning. However, new technology for learning (in most schools) will be stifled until there is a rollover of teachers and rote learning for testing is stopped and learning priorities are changed.

  4. Since immigrant teachers are unable to keep pace with the digital natives in the use of technology, they should assign topics and projects relative to the curriculum and of interest to the students. Let them collaborate in groups using the technology they have mastered to do research or problem solving. The teacher will still have control over the learning process by setting goals and objectives along with assessment and rubics. The teacher will need to have a working knowledge of the technologies the students are using to be able to guide and coach them.
