I am doing my case study on digital laboratory equipment, specifically probeware that is used to measure pH, salinity, temperature, as well as USB digital microscopes. Each of these devices can be plugged into a USB outlet and can automatically import data into spreadsheets on laptops and desktop computers.

I was going to do my case study on the use of overhead transparencies, but I am switching to voice recognition software. It is used a lot with language learning software, but not yet much in mainstream education with students who cannot read.

I plan to do my case study on handheld computers/pdas and their role in the academia world. It's been a big hit in the commercial world, but educators have been slow to adopt it in the classroom. Casie Husby
